James Duddridge Mp is among the thousands of participants expected to take part in the Southend Half Marathon this weekend.
The MP for Rochford and Southend East, will take on the charity 13.1-mile run on Sunday, which is organised by Havens Hospices.
The flagship event returns to the seafront following a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
Road closures will be in place for the race, which starts and ends at East Beach, Shoeburyness, with more than 2,000 runners expected to take part.
James ran the Southend Half Marathon in 2019 and says he’s looking forward to taking part once again.
Commenting, the MP said:
“With Covid largely in the rear-view mirror, it’s good to see these flagship events returning to our city, and I am really looking forward to running the Southend Half Marathon once again.
“There’s always a brilliant atmosphere on the day, and I would like to wish all those who are also taking part the very best of luck.”
