NHS staff in Rochford were visited by the Health Secretary on Monday.
Sajid Javid was joined by James Duddridge MP, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, to see first-hand the work being carried out by the Urgent Community Response Team (UCRT).
The team sees health and care services working together to support patients at home and avoiding the need for hospital care.
Following the ministerial visit, James said:
“It was fantastic to welcome the Health Secretary to Rochford today where we were able to see first-hand the fantastic work being carried out by the Essex Urgent Community Response Team.
“This is a really good example of how health and care services can work together to support patients at home, avoiding the need to go into hospital, and therefore reducing pressure on the NHS.”
