James Duddridge MP is encouraging residents to get their Covid booster jab as soon as they can after being called forward to receive the booster dose himself.
The Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East was contacted by the NHS and booked into the Civic Centre in Southend on Friday for his booster.
Booster doses of the Covid-19 vaccine are being offered to frontline health workers, those aged 50 and over, or those aged 16 and over with underlying health conditions.
"As soon as I was called forward for my Covid booster jab, I booked into the vaccine centre here at the Civic Centre," James said.
"It's important that as we head into winter we do everything possible to prolong the protection vaccines offer.
"The NHS are contacting those eligible directly, and I would encourage residents to get their vaccine as soon as they are called forward so we can have the strongest possible protection over the winter months."
