James has visited a pilot “bank hub” designed to give local people and businesses better access to their cash.
The Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East visited the Post Office Bank Hub in West Street, Rochford, on Friday, 16th July.
Inside, Post Office staff are able to provide traditional banking services for customers, with participating high street banks offering additional face-to-face services on a rotating basis.
Rochford is one of eight communities in the UK taking part in the six-month pilot project.
Commenting, James said:
“I was really impressed with my visit to the Post Office Bank Hub. Rochford is one of only a handful of places across the country picked for the Community Access to Cash Pilot scheme, which helps local people and firms gain access to their money easier.
“It is good to see a range of high street banks taking part at this site on a rotating basis, and I thank the team for showing me around.”
