James Duddridge MP ran 11 miles across Southend on Remembrance Sunday as part of the Royal British Legion's 11/11 campaign.
With coronavirus changing the way we raise money for the Poppy Appeal, the Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East was keen to support the virtual fundraiser.
The challenge has been set up alongside the Royals Shopping Centre, where James usually collects for the Poppy Appeal.
The run saw James travel across Southend coast and past the Southend Cenotaph.
Commenting, James said:
"In usual times, we would be collecting for the Poppy Appeal in the Royals, but the pandemic has obviously changed that this year.
"This has been an unprecedented year and raising money for The British Legion is more vital than ever. The Poppy Appeal has always been dear to my heart, and I am proud to have been asked to Ambassador The Royals Shopping Centres’ virtual campaign. Whether it’s £1 and 11pence or £11 and 11 pence – there is no donation too small."
