James Duddridge MP has welcomed the opening of a new walk-in coronavirus testing centre in the heart of Southend.
The facility, run by the Department of Health and Social Care, is based in the heart of the town at Short Street Car Park and is easily accessible without a car.
Commenting, James said:
"I’m pleased to see this new coronavirus test facility open at Short Street Car Park which will make it easier for many people in Southend to get a test. It can be easily accessed by foot or by bike, and will play an important part in controlling the virus. The Government has gone to great lengths to increase testing capacity, with our testing rate now among the best in the world, and I would urge any resident with symptoms to get tested immediately."
Anybody with symptoms can get a test by visiting nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119.
