James Duddridge MP turned Ride Host on Friday (14th August) as he completed a shift at Adventure Island for charity.
The Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend experience all aspects of working at the amusement park.
His morning began with a stint working on the latest white-knuckle attraction, Axis.
James, under the watchful eye of his supervisors, was responsible for seating guests safely and even had a go at operating the ride too.
As the day progressed, the MP was then moved to the food counter, learning how to make hot dogs and doughnuts, before serving them to hungry punters.
His shift finished working on the rollercoaster Rage, again, learning the process of seating guests safely and how the ride operates.
Adventure Island donated £200 to James' on-going fundraiser for Southend's homeless charity HARP.
Speaking afterwards, James said:
"It really was a brilliant day, and I was able to experience all aspects of working at Adventure Island, from seating guests on the rides, to serving hot dogs and doughnuts to hungry punters. The team were fab and they worked me hard, hopefully I passed my probation! A big thank you to Adventure Island for donating my earnings for the day to Southend’s homeless charity HARP.”
Adventure Island boss Philip Miller added:
“It was great fun having our local MP going back to the floor as it were. I know the customers who met him, and team members who worked alongside him found him very entertaining!”
