Vehicle owners will be granted a six-month exemption for MOT testing as part of the government’s ongoing effort to tackle the coronavirus outbreak.
MOTs due from 30th March 2020 will automatically receive the temporary extension, although drivers are being warned to keep their cars in a roadworthy condition.
Welcoming the news, James Duddridge, MP for Rochford and Southend East said:
“I welcome this temporary exemption which will be a weight off drivers’ minds during this uncertain period.
“I remind residents we all need to do our bit to stop the spread of coronavirus, so stay home, protect our NHS and save lives.”
