James Duddridge, along with fellow Essex MPs, sat down with the Chief Constable of Essex Police today to discuss policing in the county.
The MP for Rochford and Southend East met Ben-Julian Harrington in Parliament on the day Chancellor Sajid Javid announced an extra £750m to recruit 20,000 new officers as part of this year’s Spending Round.
Over the course of the productive meeting, they discussed a number of issues including violent crime, county lines and Essex’s share of the aforementioned 20,000 extra officers.
Speaking afterwards, James said:
“It was good to sit down with the Chief Constable this afternoon and catch up on policing matters. A number of issues were discussed including Essex’s share of this significant increase in police numbers.”
