James Duddridge MP turned barman for the afternoon on Friday (14th June) as he held his regular constituency surgery at a pub in Rochford.
The Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East headed to The Marlborough Head on West Street to chat with locals and deal with any problems or issues they were experiencing.
During his visit, James was also given the chance to test his pint-pouring skills behind the bar by former lorry driver turned landlord Allen Anderson - who took over at the pub four months ago after moving to the area from Basildon.
James is no stranger to getting out and about to meet with constituents, having previously held MPs' surgeries on a double-decker bus, in a McDonald’s and even at a fish and chip shop.
Speaking afterwards, James said:
"It was great to head into Rochford and spend some quality time at the Marlborough Head on Friday, meeting constituents who needed my help, representatives from Rochford District Council and locals who just wanted to talk about politics in a more relaxed environment.
"We have some great pubs in the area and I want to thank Allen and his team at the Marlborough Head for having me - and letting me try my hand at pouring a pint!
"People who were unable to visit the pub on Friday can always email me to discuss concerns via [email protected] or alternatively call my office on 01702 616 135.”
