James Duddridge local Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, has praised the Southend Business Partnership event which he attended this morning (14th June 2018) at Southend Airport.
Business briefings are held regularly, and are a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to get an insight into business opportunities both now and in the future. The next briefing will also enable business owners and managers to input into the “place vision” which is being developed for the South Essex 2050 project. This joint project involves local authorities across South Essex who are working together to produce future plans for housing, infrastructure and growth.
The event had a number of speakers, including Jon Horne, Chief Operating Officer of Stobart Aviation, Robert Stobinski, General Manager from Amazon Fulfilment Centre at Tilbury, Lyn Carpenter, Chief Executive from Thurrock Council and Andrew Lewis Deputy Chief Executive at Southend-on Sea Borough Council and gave local businesses the opportunity to ask the panel questions.
James said,
“I really enjoy attending these events because it is a useful networking event for businesses to find new opportunities to grow, and for newcomers an opportunity to seek support for the future. As an MP it gives me a great insight to what is happening businesswise in the constituency, but also, gives business owners an opportunity to raise some of their concerns around business ownership which I raise in Parliament.
I would like to encourage businesses that aren’t already registered to as it is a great opportunity to learn about the great things happening in Southend and South Essex as a whole. I hope that the success of this event carries on to the future briefings.”
