James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, visited Downing Street on Monday 4th June in order to discuss a number of issues raised with him by constituents.
The conversation mostly focused on the current Brexit negotiations. As a prominent Brexit campaigner during the 2016 referendum, James has been in regular contact with Government Ministers to ensure that the decision made by the public in is carried out.
James said,
“A clear majority of the constituents I represent and the country as a whole voted to leave the European Union. As a strong Beleaver myself, I am determined to ensure that the United Kingdom’s sovereignty is returned fully to us so that we can once again set our own destiny in the new globalised world.”
James also discussed the additional 300 Police Officers that Essex Police will be recruiting.
James said,
“Anti-social behaviour is one of the most common issues that my constituents raise with me, as such I have on a number of occasions spoken in parliament on matters such as knife crime and the occupation of public land by travellers. It is for this reason that I am pleased that there will be an additional 300 Police Officers in Essex to help keep us and our families safe.
My visit to Downing Street is evidence of the benefits that having a Conservative Member of Parliament has. It allows me to bring the issues raised to me by my constituents to the very highest level of this Government.”
