James Duddridge MP lobbied Anna Soubry, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State and Minister for Defence Personnel, Welfare and Veterans regarding the temporary closure of Shoebury East Beach.
James said
“I am aware that a meeting is scheduled for tomorrow between Southend Council and officials from the MOD regarding the closure. I am hoping that the issue is resolved and a timescale is agreed for the surveying and any remedial works. However, I am reassured that the Minister has agreed to sit down with myself and Councillors Tony Cox and Roger Hadley to address the issue if necessary.
This issue should be resolved at a local level but having spoken to the Minister, lobbied her about the issue and been given the green light to escalate to her if necessary it is extremely reassuring for all parties involved.”
