James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, confirms yet more good news for local learner drivers! James worked with local driving instructors, residents, the Driving Standards Agency and Departmental Ministers to secure Southend a new driving test centre which offers driving tests from the Tickfield Centre, in Southend, two days a week. The demand for the tests was such that it meant that there was a seven week wait to take your test in Southend.
James met with Mike Penning MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport, who confirmed that he has instructed the Driving Standards Agency to employ another examiner to operate from Southend to address the demand for tests.
James said
“I am delighted that the test centre has been so well received by the learner drivers, not just of Rochford and Southend East, but also neighbouring constituencies. The Minister assured me that when the demand warranted it, the supply of tests would be increased, and true to his word that has happened. Fantastic news for learner drivers here in Southend and surrounding areas.”
