James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, wears a purple ribbon in support of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month and the aim is to raise awareness of and funds for the research into the treatment of this deadly disease.
8000 cases of pancreatic cancer are diagnosed each year and it causes 5% of all cancer deaths. The goal of Pancreatic Cancer UK’s campaign, “Campaign for Hope”, is to double pancreatic cancer survival rates within the next five years.
James said
“I am delighted to take part in pancreatic cancer awareness month, and raise awareness of this illness which affects so many people. I will be wearing my purple ribbon with pride in the upcoming month, and I urge my constituents to support Pancreatic Cancer UK, especially this month.”
