James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, today has made his debut at the dispatch box.
Traditionally Government Whips do not speak in the chamber, let alone at the dispatch box. However, Henry Bellingham and Alistair Burt were not available to speak today during the adjournment debate, secured by fellow MP Andrew Rosindell, and so James was called to Westminster.
The adjournment debate was a thirty minute debate on the Turks and Caicos Islands.
James said
"" I enjoyed my first time at the dispatch box, and I am hopeful that it won't be my last!""
