James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, supports “Dress Spotty Day” which is being held on Friday 12th November 2010.
Dress Spotty Day is organised by Lynn’s Bowel Cancer Campaign and the campaign objective is to raise awareness of the need to spot the symptoms of bowel cancer.
Over 35,000 people will be diagnosed with bowel cancer this year however, bowel cancer is one of the most curable cancers if it is caught and treated early. The Prime Minister has recently announced a new form of bowel cancer screening which will hopefully save the lives of thousands.
James said
“I am encouraging my constituents to wear something spotty for Dress Spotty Day. Whilst this is a fun idea the object of the exercise is serious and could save the lives of thousands. People need to be made aware of the symptoms and the potentially lifesaving screening. I encourage you to ‘go spotty!’
