James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, supports the Royal British Legion as he joins the Poppy collecting team on Sunday 7th November 2010. Every year James takes to the streets to support the Royal British Legion to raise much needed funds for ex service people.
The Royal British Legion safeguards the welfare, interests and memory of those who are serving or who have served in the Armed Forces. The welfare work is a lifeline for thousands of serving and ex-Service people and they can only continue to provide these invaluable services with the support from the general public.
James said
“I am delighted to be able to join the collection team to raise money for our troops, be them serving or having served in our armed forces. Service men and women across the country put their lives in danger whilst protecting millions of citizens and our country and this is a small token of my appreciation and thanks to the outstanding work they have done and continue to do.”
