Dear Reader,
What a busy couple of weeks I have had since my last column. As I write this I am in Manchester at the Conservative Party Conference however I will write more about that next time.
The past two weeks have flown by with some fantastic events. Some have been covered extensively. One such event was the recent official opening of Southend Airport Train Station by The Rt Hon Theresa Villiers MP. During her time at the airport, Theresa had a tour of the new control tower, airport terminal that is under construction and of course the train station. The event was a milestone in the development of the airport and the expansion plans and I am looking forward to the next phase being completed.
I have recently had a tour of the accident and emergency department at Southend Hospital. The tour was a fantastic opportunity to see the department in operation. I had a tour of the department a few years ago and it is important to remain fully aware of the issues and challenges the department faces and also those that the patients raise with me and being able to address those with the service providers directly.
I have also visited the Deaf Club in Southend, Citizen of the Year Awards, Great Wakering Football Club, Annual Whitebait Festival, Essex Jamme Masjid Mosque and Southend Business Partnership Breakfast Briefing.
I must close for now and head back into conference, until next time!
