Southend, Rochford and other parts of Essex will enter Tier 3: Very High alert on Wednesday in a bid to curb the rising number of Covid cases.

Residents must not socialise indoors or in private gardens with people they do not live with, or who are not part of their support bubble.
Everyone who can work from home should continue to do so.
Retail, gyms and personal care facilities, such as hairdressers, will, however, remain open.
