Sir James Duddridge KCMG, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, attended alongside representatives from Southend City Council, Rochford District Council, South East Essex Local Enterprise Partnership and Oxford Innovation Space for the handover and ribbon cutting ceremony of a brand-new innovation centre at the Airport Business Park.
The Launchpad forms part of the broader delivery of the Airport Business Park, representing a £150 million investment into Southend and Rochford and will help provide up to 2,600 new jobs.
Following a tour of the new facility, Sir James said,
“It is brilliant to see the Airport Business Park taking shape after helping secure the funding for the project. The Launchpad represents just the start of the fantastic opportunities which can be delivered here, as we build on the thriving entrepreneurial spirit in Southend and Rochford.”
“The Launchpad will provide businesses a place to collaborate, share their knowledge, and support each other as they grow, and I cannot wait to see businesses start to utilise the centre.”
