James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, is delighted that the Government are investing in the roads in Rochford and Southend East. James received notification from the Andrew Jones MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Transport that Southend Borough Council will be receiving £102,000 for pothole repair across Southend and Essex County Council is receiving £1,869,000 to repair potholes across Essex.
The Government have allocated over £9.7 million to the East of England which will fix approximately 183,000 potholes in 2017/2018 or in some cases, should prevent the pothole forming in the first place.
James said
“Potholes are always a topic of conversation with residents, often residents asking if additional funds can be allocated to repair the potholes across Rochford and Southend. I know that residents will be pleased to learn funds have been allocated and will be used to repair potholes locally.”
