James Duddridge MP has visited a 128-year-old golf club where he was given a tour of the course and shown recent refurbishment works.
The Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East was welcomed to Rochford Hundred Golf Club by Club Captain Neil Lupton.
The 18-hole course is steeped in history and the only one in England with an active church within its grounds.
Following the visit, James said:
“I really enjoyed my recent visit to Rochford Hundred Golf Course, which is now 128 years old.
“During lockdown, they put a lot of work into refurbishing their clubhouse and it is good to see people able to enjoy this space now restrictions have eased.
“My thanks go to Neil and the team for showing me around and explaining a bit more about the history of this course.”
