James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, has received a letter from The Rt Hon Andrew Robathan MP in relation to the future of the Foulness Bike Ride.
James contacted the Minister last month following receipt of a letter from the Thorpe Bay Rotary Club which raised concerns that the bike ride would not be going ahead in 2012. James wrote to the Minister and met with him twice in Parliament to discuss the issues and source a solution. In the letter that the Minister has sent it states that the Foulness Bike Ride will be going ahead in 2012.
James said
“I am delighted that the Foulness Bike Ride will be going ahead in 2012. This event raises thousands of pounds for local charities and I am thrilled that the bike ride will continue next year. I have taken part on a number of occasions over the years and I am looking forward to taking part next year. This is fantastic news.”
