James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, has spoken out following a visit by Ed Miliband to Rochford and Southend East.
James said
“It is ironic that Ed Miliband visited a school that was in special measures for six years under the Labour Government. It is also ironic that he is calling for an emergency budget. We had an emergency budget following the election in 2010. The emergency budget was called as a result of the horrendous state of the economy that was inherited by the coalition government and left to us by Labour. That was Labours legacy.
“I received notification late last night that Ed Balls and Ed Miliband were due to be in my constituency today. Both Ed Balls and Ed Miliband were at the heart of creating the mess that the coalition government inherited. They were a failure in the treasury and in government and we do not need them any more.”
