James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, sat in on an statutory instrument today in Parliament which sees the licensing hours extended for the Queens Diamond Jubilee.
The Statutory Instrument, The Licensing Act 2003 (Diamond Jubilee Licensing Hours) Order 2012, saw 18 Members of Parliament discuss and approve licensing hours being extended for two hours to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee.
James said
“Statutory Instruments enable MP’s to scrutinise legislation. Sometimes the topic is important and can take up to three hours, other times it can be less important and take far less time. Today it took 15 minutes, I am pleased to say that we can raise a glass to the Queen to celebrate her 60 years on the throne.”
