James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, urges residents that may need assistance with the upcoming analogue to digital TV switchover to seek assistance.
Over the next ten weeks the London TV region will begin the process of switching from analogue to digital TV. There are approximately 160,000 eligible older and disabled people in Essex who are covered by the London TV region and will shortly be switching over to digital TV.
For £40, or free if on income related benefits, constituents will have access to easy to use equipment, an installer and a 12 month aftercare service. Letters will be sent out to those who are eligible, but people must respond to receive help.
James said
“I urge anyone who anticipates needing help with the upcoming TV switch to digital to check their eligibility and contact the Switchover Help Scheme.
In addition to the support, constituents can check online at www.digitaluk.co.uk to ascertain what date the switchover in their area will be taking place.”
