James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, praises local councillor, activists and community members who supported Great British Spring Clean at the weekend.
Councillor Alex Bright, local community activist Daniel Nelson and local residents visited Bournes Green Park to participate in a litter picking session. During the session 13 bags of rubbish were collected including a hi-fi system, a coat, blanket and dining room table.
James said
“I would like to thank Daniel Nelson, Cllr Bright and local residents who participated in the Great British Spring Clean. Community activism is a great way of pulling the community together and supporting your local area. I am aware that another session has been arranged for 1st April and would encourage others to get involved.”
Daniel said
“It was great to see so many members of the community getting involved and making difference to the area that they live in. It is disappointing that there are people in our area who disregard rubbish without a second thought and I hope when people see the amount of waste collected they will think twice and dispose of their waste appropriately.”
