James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, lobbied Andrew Percy MP, Minister for Local Growth for funding for South East Local Enterprise Partnership.
James asked the Minister in the House to clarify the amount of funding the South East Local Enterprise Partnership will be allocated from the Growth Deal Three Allocation. James had been contacted by members of the South East Local Enterprise Partnership as they were concerned that the allocation may be significantly less than that which had been bid for. The Minister reassured James that no final allocation had been announced. Outside of the Chamber, James continued his conversation with the Minister and was reassured that no final decision had been made.
James said
“Having had the issue of funding raised with me by a number of South East Local Enterprise Partnership members I took the opportunity to ask the Minister what decisions have been made, what our allocation is likely to be and what other possible opportunities for funding there may be in the pipeline to fill any gaps in funding.
The Minister confirmed that no final decisions have been made and that the formal announcements will be made in the coming weeks. I lobbied the Minister to ring fence some of the funds to enable the airport business park to be completed.”
