James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, spoke in the House of Commons debate rail services in Essex.
James took the opportunity of an adjournment debate to discuss rail services and issues in Rochford and Southend East. Rail issues have been a major concern since the c2c timetable changes last December that have presented constituents with challenges during their daily commute.
James said
“Constituents have been in contact with me over the past twelve months regarding the challenges that there have been since c2c implemented a new time table in December last year. C2C have made a number of alterations to the timetable to address the issue and additional rolling stock is due to be in operation on the line. However, there is more to be done to ensure the best possible passenger experience, including reducing the number of trains that stop at London stations to reduce the travel time from Southend to London.
In relation to the Liverpool Street line everyone is keen to see new trains in operation and Abellio have confirmed that the trains will start being rolled out in 2019. This is great news for passengers and I know it can’t come quick enough!”
