James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, raises awareness of the National Express Foundation.
The transport providers foundation will provide bursaries to help local students attend further and higher education as well a as support local community groups working with young people. National Express has promised to provide at least half a million pounds to the foundation over the next five years.
The National Express Foundation will award £10,000 per annum to several local colleges and universities to enable them to provide individuals in challenging personal or financial situations with a bursary towards funding their living costs whilst a student.
The foundation will also provide up to £30,000 a year funding to local community groups working with young people.
James said
“I welcome the announcement that National Express has launched a major new foundation aimed at helping young people in our area get on in life. I urge local colleges to make the most of this initiative and submit applications for funding.”
