James Duddridge MP has criticised proposed cuts to Southend's weekly bin collections.
It follows reports in the local media that Southend Borough Council was considering the introduction of fortnightly collections, a move opposed by local Conservatives.
Commenting, James said:
“Southend’s Labour-led coalition of chaos must bin the idea of fortnightly collections and keep it weekly. Residents deserve a first-class bin collection service in return for their Council Tax. Cutting this to fortnightly would be a disaster for our City and send us right back to the 1970s with rubbish pilling up in the streets!”
