After campaigning for a year on behalf of the residents of Shoebury Garrison for the introduction of a Post Box, James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, is delighted to inform constituents that the hard work has paid off.
Royal Mail have today confirmed that following James Duddridge MP’s petition in collaboration with Cllr Roger Hadley last year and several follow-up interventions, a Post Box will be sited next to Sainsbury’s Local on the Garrison on 1st March 2016 and will be operational a few days after installation.
Several constituents had raised concerns about the lack of a Post Box on the Garrison with Cllr Hadley and James Duddridge MP, which was the catalyst that led to the pair setting up and conducting a door-to-door petition last year.
James said “This is fantastic news for the Garrison and shows how effective community engagement really is when getting things done!”
