James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, today attended the official launch of Café Hub at Christ Church. Café Hub runs on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday which operates as a drop in café. In addition to the café, Christ Church are also introducing a number of resources and courses for people to attend.
One of the additional services offered is therapeutic sensory play for children with disabilities. This runs on a Friday and is aimed at preschool children with disabilities.
There are a number of organisations assisting with the implementation of the sensory play sessions and other courses and is a way of interacting and engaging with the local community.
James said
“It is fantastic when local organisations work together to offer services and support for people within the community. Visiting the Café hub today I was able to see the children during the sensory play session, having fun and interacting with others, whilst enabling the parents and carers to get together. The support from residents, agencies, volunteers and staff is a great demonstration of community cohesion and the Big Society in action.”
