James Duddridge MP has welcomed the news that 73 new officers will soon be policing the streets of Essex.
On Friday (28th June 2019) the new recruits attended a passing out parade at Essex Police's headquarters in Chelmsford.
The intake of 73 new officers, which includes 25 women, is the biggest ever in the history of Essex Police, with further recruits set to be deployed later this year.
Twenty six of the officers will arrive in south Essex for their first day of operational duty on Monday 8th July.
Welcoming the news, James said:
"I welcome these additional officers and congratulate them on completing their training. They will play an important role in keeping the streets of Southend, Rochford and wider Essex safe - with further officers expected to arrive later this year."
