I had a great visit to The Fun Factory in Rochford last week. This exciting new venture is a brand new indoor children’s play area situated on Purdey’s Way Industrial Estate, Rochford.
The Fun Factory will be offering soft play areas, a soft ice rink, large climbing wall, sports arena, go kart track and an interactive sensory zone. I know my children can’t wait for it to officially open at the end of August!
I also officially opened the new show home at The Garrison which is called The Osborne. I couldn’t help but name it the George Osborne when cutting the ribbon! The show home was very uniquely presented, each room presented in a different style. One room was displayed as a home cinema with cinema seating and another was a boudoir, complete with underwear on the towel rail and bed! I met with the interior designers, developers and sales team.
When driving onto The Garrison I saw that the new Hinguar School is looking very impressive and seemingly nearing completion, from the outside anyway! I am sure that the teachers, pupils and parents are really looking forward to going into the new school when it opens. We are very fortunate throughout the constituency to have some fantastic educational facilities that cater for all different ages, abilities and of course learning style, whether it be academic or vocational. The new school will be a huge asset to the town.
In addition to the formal visits I enjoy taking time out with my family and using the leisure facilities that we have in Rochford and Southend. The facilities that local residents enjoy throughout the year and that attract visitors from outside the area.
I can’t end the column without congratulating the athletes that participated in the Olympics. My wife had tickets to see beach volleyball, I stayed at home and looked after the children. I am, looking forward to seeing the athletics during the Paralympics in early September. Hats off to Essex County Council and Councillor Stephen Castle for securing Hadleigh to host the Mountain Biking. Unwisely I am would like to give the course a try at some point!
