James Duddridge, Member of Parliament of Rochford and Southend East, is reminding constituents to ensure that they have appropriate travel insurance before they depart for any holidays this summer.
The Association of British Insurers has issued advice for tourists on the matter of their holiday insurance. It states that:
· Travellers should always be on the safe side and check around to find the most comprehensive policy possible at the best price. Some may be cheap, but not cover the essentials. This may result in further costs.
· Holiday makers are advised to make sure they have covered what’s important to them and not to take any unnecessary risks to ensure personal safety and a minimal cost. Claims are invalidated by irresponsible behaviour such as alcohol and drug abuse.
· It advises those taking out a policy to be honest about their health history to avoid further complications.
James said
“I urge all constituents to ensure they are adequately insured for any activities and holiday breaks they are planning this summer. Whilst some feel sorting out travel insurance can detract from the fun of organising a holiday, getting your holiday insurance correct from the outset, will prevent any problems further down the line.”
