James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, visited the health bus in Southend.
NHS South East Essex is offering residents free NHS health checks, on specially designed 'health bus' supported by Pfizer Limited.
People aged between 40 and 74 wil be able to have a free NHS health check which includes blood pressure, cholesterol and Body Mass Index.
In addition, there is a NHS Stop Smoking Service, NHS Health Trainers and also a lung age test which is a simple easy breath test to check for any lung conditions
James said
""I would recommend anyone eligble for a free health check to visit the health bus. The staff are friendly, approachable and offer non evasive tests which will be able to asses your health.""
""If necessary they will be able to recommend GP intervention or provide you with reassurance that all is well.""
