Sir James Duddridge KCMG, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, is set to undertake a charity work experience shift at a local insurance broker, InsureandGo, as he continues to raise money for this London Marathon for Southend RNLI.
InsureandGo has been offering travel insurance products for over twenty years. Sir James will meet the team in Southend and work a charity shift alongside them. As part of Sir James’ ongoing campaign to support Southend RNLI, InsureandGo is making a donation to his London Marathon fundraiser.
The London Marathon in April will be Sir James’ fifth time running the iconic 26.2 miles. To date, Sir James has raised £9,489 for local charities such as Havens Hospices, HARP and Southend Samaritans, as well as national charities such as The Rose Patterson Trust and Diabetes UK.
Commenting about his placement, Sir James said:
“I am looking forward to working alongside the team at InsureandGo, and thank them for their support as I continue my London Marathon fundraiser for Southend RNLI.
“From manning the phones to even making the tea, every pound I raise from my time at InsureandGo will go directly to supporting our fantastic lifeboat crews here in Southend.”
Chris Rolland, CEO at InsureandGo said:
“We are looking forward to welcoming Sir James to our Southend office. InsureandGo is a major national brand in the travel insurance market and we are proud of our local roots as a successful Southend business. Our staff are delighted to support Sir James with his ambitious fundraising project. We ourselves support a number of community initiatives and we applaud Sir James for the fantastic work he is doing to support the life-saving heroes at the RNLI"
