James Duddridge, Member of Parliament for Rochford and Southend East, encourages residents of Rochford to nominate their Citizen of the Year.
The Citizen of the Year Awards are about recognising and acknowledging individuals in the District for their valuable hard work and outstanding achievements regardless of their age.
You can nominate anyone who lives within Rochford District and whose achievements you feel should be recognised.
Nominations have previously ranged from young people who have excelled at school, cared for a parent, or helped raise money for charities through to adults who have driven buses for a special needs group, volunteered at day centres, swept paths in bad weather, cook at elderly people’s events, served on committees and charities, provided advice and helped with shopping trips.
James said
""This award is important because nominations are submitted from the residents of the district who benefit from the good work that the nominees have carried out.
I would encourage residents of Rochford to nominate their Citizen of the Year. Nominations can be made via the Rochford District Council website or by calling the council officers.""
Nominations can be made until 12 February, by contacting Julia Mitchell on 01702 318144 for a nomination form or by visiting www.rochford.gov.uk/citizenoftheyear
